Passaic County Courts

Passaic County Criminal Records

Passaic County criminal records are official documents detailing Passaic County arrest records and convictions of individuals in the county. These records are not open to all members of the public. Rather, they are accessible to authorized individuals. Passaic County criminal records are processed by the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office, and they are made available to be obtained by the New Jersey State Police (NJSP).

The NJSP maintains the New Jersey Criminal History Record Information (CHRI). CHRI may only be accessed by authorized individuals or agencies for authorized purposes. Authorized purposes are when a person or non-governmental entity requires CHRI for employment. CHRI provided are fingerprint-based checks and name-based checks.

The fingerprint-based checks allow residents of the state of New Jersey to request a copy of his/her own criminal history record. Various types of fingerprint-based check requests may be made. They include personal requests, personal requests (notarized), personal requests (employment), Noncriminal Justice Licensing/Employment Requests, etc. Individuals interested in making fingerprint-based should visit the NJ CHRI page and follow the instructions provided. Name-based checks may be made by filling out the SBI 212B Form. This form requires information such as the subject’s name, date of birth, social security number, and other necessary information. The New Jersey Department of Health provides copies of Passaic County marriage records, domestic partnership records, and civil union records. Interested persons may request copies of Passaic County marriage records, domestic partnership records, and civil union records by using the Vital Records Online Service. A requester will need a credit card for payment, a government-issued photo ID to verify your identity, and scanned copies of required documents. The service has a $5 charge fee for each record and another $5 charge for each record found. There is a $12 charge for mailing the copies of the records ordered by UPS.
